Description |
Animal hide sword sheath with a pommel styled base. Twined straw is wrapped around the top open-ended section of sheath. The ends of animal hide is stitched together by straw twine. Stitching runs along the vertical center and forms a Y at the pommel section. The obverse of sheath features a small rectangular leather strap attached. The sides of strap is decorated by straw twine. Strap is held in place by strips of leather secured through the animal hide. Donated by Mrs. Violet Chevalier-Syer |
