Description |
Copper bust of Lord Nelson mounted on oak base. He is adorned in naval accessories, shirt has only right sleeve indicating the loss of his left arm and a bow at the end of his hair. Bust sits on metal base, which is attached to a larger wooden base. Inscribed on metal base at front is "Nelson. Walter J. Palmer. J.P.,Kingston, Jamaica, June 1937. As a token of gratitude for valuable services rendered. Back reads "Mount made of Oak from H.M.S Victory". Left side reads "Presented By British Sailors Society". Right side reads "Made of copper from Nelson's Flagships". |
