Description |
Bronze object octagonal in shape and "Penny 5 Weights" written on obverse. Pennyweights are a part of the troy weight system that was created in medieval times in Britain. The measurements included the troy grain, pennyweight and ounce; and they were mainly used for measuring gold and other precious metals. A pennyweight is based on the weight of an old English penny. |
