Description |
Large object with a narrow nozzle, a broad air chamber and thin handles. The body has a accordion petaloid shape. The narrower end is extended to create the nozzle of the bellows. Leather or vinyl surrounds or encases the center. A blacksmith uses a bellows to deliver a constant supply of oxygen to the fire. This helps with the combustion process and allows for higher temperature fires. Hot enough to heat iron to the point that it can be molded and manipulated to create all sorts of objects. Donated by West India Chemical Works, Spanish Town and is on display at the People's Museum in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. |
