Bust of Thomas Clarkson and his name embossed on obverse. Presented to the Institute of Jamaica by Archdeacon J.L. Ramson in 1934. The Society for effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade was formed in England and in 1787 issued a medallion showing a kneeling slave with the motto "Am I Not A Man And A Brother?"
