Description |
Silver plated ferrule rounded triangular shape blade with spiral shank. Top area of blade curves inwards. A branch of leaves incised near toe while dots, short lines and foliate designs are on the blade of the trowel. Incised lines forms a border on the back of the blade. Dark wooden handle with a spot of light brown. Silver top with a bulb decorates tip of bulbous handle along with three sets of double lines around it. Inscription on the blade of the trowel reads "This Trowel was used by the Archbishop of The West Indies, in laying the Foundation Stones of The Parish Church, St. George's Church, St. Michael's Church and All Saints Church Kingston, Jamaica rebuilt after the Earthquake of Jan. 14th 1907". |
