Two branches with cherries and a dagger drawn on tag along with their Logo and other writings. Embossed on base is the number "2" and a star.. Pimento Dram is a herbal liquer that is made with Jamaican rum and allspice, the berry of the pimento tree. Pimento comes from the Spanish "pimiento" but the English called it allspice, when they captured Jamaica from the Spanish in 1655 and discovered the pimento berry. Since then in Jamaica allspice berries have been picked and dried then soaked in rum and sweetened but the liquer became popular in Europe and North America in the early 1900's when it was bottled and sold by J. Wray & Nephew, a Jamaican Company. It has a amber colour and flavour is said to be a combination of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. |
